John March

Lead Pastor

John, an Edina native, graduated from Tufts University with a BS in Computer Engineering and from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a M.Div.  After working as an engineer in Chicago, he felt God’s call into ministry. He taught overseas for a year at the African Bible College in Lilongwe, Malawi and served as the children’s and college pastor at Highrock Church in Arlington, MA before moving back to Minneapolis to start New City Covenant Church in 2009.  He enjoys swimming, golf, reading, playing with his four children, and listening to podcasts.


Mary March

Connections and Community Life Pastor

Mary, a New Jersey native, grew up in a church plant where her parents were the pastors. She graduated from University of Michigan and from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary with a M. Div. and a Masters in Counseling specializing in Marriage and Family Therapy.  Before New City, she worked as a youth pastor in Staten Island, NY, a children’s and college pastor with John at Highrock Church, and a Family and Youth Counselor at The Bridge for Youth. She is the proud mom of four and in her spare time, she enjoys painting, baking, reading and playing music.


Jamey Cassell

Worship and Welcome Pastor

Jamey grew up as a missionary kid spending time both in Colorado and Brussels, Belgium. He graduated Vanguard University of Southern California with a B.A. in Religion and Fuller Theological Seminary with a M.A. in Theology. He worked in several churches in California and Minnesota before joining New City Church. In addition to spending quality time with his wife and daughter, he loves discovering new music, running, and specialty coffee.



Kate King

Children’s Ministry Pastor

Kate has a degree in Elementary Education from the University of Minnesota. Her passion for teaching children has grown over the years through teaching yoga, working as an autism behavioral therapist, and most notably as a mom. Kate is passionate about developing a firm foundation where faith can grow freely in the lives of children at New City. She loves dates with her husband, family movie nights, great questions, and morning walks.
