SLOW: Slowed-Down Spirituality

On June 16, we begin our summer sermon series called SLOW. We will be inviting our community to slow down. The verses that we will be using to guide us through this sermon series come from Matthew 11 from the Message. Jesus says this to you and me: “Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11:28-30

We are going to spend the summer meditating on what it means to live into the this sort of life as we follow Jesus. Jesus says, “take a real rest.” Jesus says, “learn the unforced rhythms of grace.” Jesus says, “follow me and you will learn to live freely.” That’s what we will explore this summer.
