The radical assertion of the first followers of Jesus was that after being crucified he was raised from the dead. His resurrection wasn’t a resuscitation that just kept him around for a few years. It meant that Jesus was alive in a new way. It meant that now through the presence of the Spirit you and I can commune with the living Christ. This is hard for most of us. We don’t always know how to talk with Jesus or listen for his voice. So, we are going to look back on some of Jesus more intimate conversations with people in the gospel of John with the hope that we might learn how to better converse with Jesus ourselves.
